N. KOREA UNVEILS NEW ICBM IN ANNIVERSARY MILITARY PARADE
North Korea has unveiled its newest intercontinental ballistic missile at a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers Party.The party's newspaper says the event took place in Pyongyang on Friday night and that the country's leader Kim Jong Un, Chinese Premier Li Xiang and Chinese Premier Li Shang and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev attended.
During the event, the North unveiled what it calls the new ICBM. The Hassan 20, the country described its as the most powerful nuclear strategic weapon system. Kim also delivered a speech justifying the dispatch of North Korean troops to Russia as it continues its invasion of Ukraine. The report cited Kim as saying the perfection of the North Korean military was demonstrated by the heroic fighting spirit of its troops on overseas battlefields. The newspaper also said Kim declared his party and government will continue to oppose injustice and hegemony.

TRUMP THREATENS TO IMPOSE ADDITIONAL 100% TARIFF ON CHINA.
US President Donald Trump says he will impose an additional 100% tariff on imports from China. The move comes after Beijing announced it will tighten export controls on rare earths.
Trump wrote in a social media post on Friday that the United States of America will impose a tariff of 100% on China over and above any tariff that they are currently paying. He said the additional levy will take effect on November 1st, but may come sooner depending on any further actions. More changes taken by China Trump also said the US will impose export controls on any and all critical software on November 1st. In an earlier post, the US president suggested he may cancel a planned summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in South Korea. Later this month, Trump cited China's toughened export controls on rare earths and related technologies.

US MEDIA: TRUMP TO DISCUSS GAZA WITH WORLD LEADERS IN EGYPT
A US media outlet has reported that President Trump plans to hold a summit of world leaders in Egypt to discuss the Gaza Strip. Trump is scheduled to visit the Middle East next week. This comes after Israel and Hamas agreed on the first phase of a plan he proposed to end the conflict in Gaza. A ceasefire took effect on Friday. Also on Friday, Trump suggested the hostages held by the Islamic group in Gaza are likely to return on Monday, the US president also said he will deliver an address to the Israeli parliament and then travel to Egypt. I think we'll, I'll go to Cairo. I think that's where we're going as opposed to the place of the signing. And we have a lot of leaders from all over the world coming to, you know, they've been invited.
A-BOMB SURVIVORS ARCHIVES FIND NEW HOME
The long search for a place to store the archives of atomic bomb survivors hibakusha is over. About half of the materials will be consolidated and moved to a new facility in Tokyo later this month.The undertaking was arranged by the nonprofit organization No More Hibakusha Project, inheriting memories of the A and H bomb sufferers. The group has gathered more than 20,000 documents in cooperation with Nihon Kidankyo, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024. But the archives are spread across several locations due to the lack of a single facility.
The documents include personal notes from atomic bomb survivors and a 1985 survey on more than 10,000 hibakusha to learn about their health and living conditions.

TRUMP INVITED TO VISIT HIROSHIMA, NAGASAKI
Officials in Washington and Tokyo are tentatively planning for Trump to visit Japan ahead of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea. Hiroshima Mayor Matsui Kazuimi and Nagasaki Mayor Suzuki Shiro sent their letter on Friday. They say the risk of another nuclear weapon being used as grown in the 80 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They urged Trump to listen to the voices of the survivors and take the inhumane consequences of the attacks to heart. The two mayors have also asked Japan's if foreign minister Iwaya Takeshi for help in bringing Trump to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.The mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have sent a joint letter to US President Trump.
They've invited him to visit the two atomic bomb cities later this month.
JAPAN POLICE ARREST 2 FOREIGNERS FOR ALLEGED DRUG SMUGGLING
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has arrested two foreign nationals on suspicion of smuggling stimulant drugs into Japan.The suspects are British citizen Kim Dan Nguyen and US citizen Jason Raymond Scott. They allegedly violated the Stimulants Control Act. The police and others said Scott is suspected of having flown from Los Angeles to Tokyo's Haneda airport last month carrying a suitcase containing about 17 kilograms of drugs. The stimulants are estimated to have a street value of more than $6.3 million. An investigation of Nguyen 's lodging in Japan uncovered nearly 100 kilograms of stimulant drugs in six suitcases, with a street value of more than $37,000,000. Both suspects have denied the allegations.
VISITORS PACK WORLD EXPO SITE IN OSAKA TWO DAYS BEFORE CLOSING
Crowds packed the venue of the 2025 World Expo in Osaka on Saturday, two days before its closing. The six month event opened in April with 158 countries and territories taking part. More than 200,000 people per day have visited the Expo in recent weeks.Nearly all emissions slots were filled on Saturday, the start of a three day weekend.
