TRUMP, ZELENSKYY TALK TOMAHAWK MISSILES
Here's President Donald Trump has hosted Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, but warned that providing long range missiles could trigger a bigger escalation. Later, he called on Russia and Ukraine to stop the war immediately. Trump has been considering Zelenskyy's request to acquire the missiles known as tomahawks. The decision has been the focus of much anticipation and debate.

Donald Trump  0:44
Sure, we're going to be talking about that. That's why we're here,

Speaker 1  0:48
But Trump says he wants the conflict to end without thinking about tomahawks. He later posted on social media that he and Zelenskyy had an interesting and cordial meeting, but he didn't say anything about the missiles. Zelenskyy told reporters that he too, would not discuss them.

Zelenskyy  1:06
We decided that we don't speak about it because nobody wants,
you know, I mean, this United States doesn't want escalation.

Speaker 1  1:18
The meeting comes one day after Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone. He says the two will meet in Hungary in the coming weeks. The Russians have warned him against providing tomahawks to Ukraine. Trump later told reporters Russia and Ukraine should stop the war immediately at the battle line, wherever it is. He added, otherwise, it's too complicated.
