Taiwan has lifted all remaining restrictions on imports of Japanese food, Its apparent show of solidarity with Tokyo comes as tensions rise between Japan and China.

Neither are certificates of origin for foods from anywhere else in Japan.
Taiwanese health ministry officials say members of the public did not oppose the move when asked beforehand.

BEER GIANT ASAHI PLANS FEBRUARY RECOVERY FROM HACK ATTACK
NHK has learned Japanese beer giant Asahi Group Holdings has told business partners and others that its IT systems will be restored by February at the earliest
The company has been forced to confront security vulnerabilities after being targeted by hackers.
Asahi Group suffered a massive system failure following a ransomware attack in late September.
Shipments of beer, soft drinks, and other items are still at reduced levels.
Sources said the company had informed wholesalers and other business partners that it plans to restore shipments to normal by February at the earliest.
This means that even if the countermeasures proceed as planned, a full recovery will come more than four months after the attack.
Asahi Group Holdings will hold a news conference on November 27 to explain details including the recovery process, the extent of personal information leaks, and the impact on its businesses.
FIRE EVACUEES IN OITA ALLOWED TO CHECK HOMES
Residents of a district in the southwestern Japanese city of Oita, who were forced to flee after a fire tore through their community, have been allowed to return to check their homes.
The fire that broke out on Tuesday in the Saganoseki district destroyed about 170 buildings.
City officials announced on Thursday that the blaze on the peninsula where the community is located had been brought under control, but they are still unsure whether it has been completely extinguished.
A large part of the affected area has been cordoned off, but the city decided to allow evacuees who want to check on their homes to enter the restricted zone, accompanied by police and fire officials on Saturday and Sunday.
City officials said the evacuees were able to check on the condition of their homes from the outside after walking along streets that had been confirmed safe.

TRUMP PRESSES KYIV TO ACCEPT US PEACE PLAN BY THURSDAY

Trump has set next Thursday as the target date for Ukraine to accept the proposal while suggesting there could be an extension.
US media say the plan states the Crimea Peninsula, which was unilaterally annexed by Russia, and the eastern Ukrainian regions of Luhansk and Donetsk, would be recognized as de facto Russian territory by parties including the United States.
Zelenskyy says his country now faces one of the most difficult choices in its history, whether to lose its dignity or to lose its key partner, the US.
Zelensky earlier spoke over the telephone with the leaders of Britain, France, and Germany.
Reuters news agency says they exchanged opinions on a counter-proposal to the US plan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin says the US plan could serve as a foundation for a final peace settlement.

The president says the two had a great meeting and that they agreed on a lot more than he expected.
He says they focused on topics like affordability and housing.
