Representatives at an international conference on Ukraine's reconstruction after the Russian invasion have wrapped up two days of talks with a pledge to support a recovery process led by the Ukrainians.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference was held in the southern Swiss city of Lugano on Monday and Tuesday. Officials from the governments of Ukraine and about 40 other countries took part. The World Bank and other international bodies also participated.

On Tuesday, delegates outlined their countries' support plans to help Ukraine rebuild from the devastation it has suffered.

Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Suzuki Takako recalled how Japan rebuilt its economy after being reduced to ruins in World War Two. She also touched on the country's experience in recovering from numerous natural disasters, including the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

Suzuki said Japan will share the lessons it has learned. She also promised that Japan would continue to provide maximum support for Ukraine.

The representatives adopted the Lugano Declaration at the end of the conference. The document expressed the participants' commitment to supporting Ukraine on its path to long-term recovery. It also stressed the importance of ensuring transparency in development finance, lending and borrowing practices.

At a news conference following the meeting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said his country has begun discussing its recovery plan with partner nations, which will bring great hope to the people of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government says the country needs roughly 750 billion dollars at this point for restoration and rebuilding efforts. But it's unclear how Ukraine will secure the necessary funding and set out concrete recovery measures.

The US and Chinese governments have announced that their foreign ministers will meet on the sidelines of the Group of 20 foreign ministerial meeting in Indonesia.

The G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting is to be held in Bali on July 7 and 8.

China's Foreign Ministry says Wang Yi will exchange views with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on current bilateral relations and major international and regional issues.

The foreign ministers of both countries will meet in person for the first time since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in February.

Blinken is expected to urge China not to provide military assistance to Russia, nor other forms of support that would help Moscow dodge Western sanctions.

The foreign ministers are also expected to coordinate their plans for a summit between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Biden has indicated he will hold online talks with Xi in the near future.

Blinken and Wang are also likely to discuss tariffs, as Washington is considering reviewing tariffs on imports from China as part of measures against record inflation.

A suspected hacker is offering to sell on the dark web what is claimed to be personal data of one billion Chinese citizens.

The Tokyo-based information security firm Sighnt says it has confirmed that an anonymous person identified as "ChinaDan" has been selling the information since Thursday.

The person claims the data was obtained from the database of the Shanghai police, and includes names, addresses, mobile numbers and crime records. The suspected hacker is offering to sell the data for 200,000 dollars.

The security firm says disclosed samples contain what is believed to be private data of Chinese citizens, and memos on crime investigations.

Iwai Hiroki of the security company Sighnt says he confirmed the authenticity of some addresses, and the data appears to include sensitive information. He says if information on one billion people were leaked, it would be one of China's biggest data breaches.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Thursday that he has not fully grasped the situation and declined to comment.
