US President Donald Trump has suggested that his second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will take place soon and be held in a location other than Singapore.
Trump revealed this during his meeting on Monday with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Trump said the summit will happen in the "not too distant" future, but the leaders won't meet in the same place as where they first met in June.
He added that details will be announced "pretty soon."
Moon briefed Trump on the outcome of last week's inter-Korean summit.
Moon said Kim expressed hope that he will meet Trump soon and work together to quickly complete the denuclearization process.
During the inter-Korean summit, the North said it's ready to close its nuclear facilities in Nyongbyon if the US takes reciprocal steps.
Trump apparently wants to advance denuclearization negotiations through his second summit with Kim.

North Korea's foreign minister has left Beijing for the UN General Assembly in New York.
Ri Yong Ho left the Chinese capital on Tuesday. He had a stopover there from Pyongyang.
Last week, the leaders of North and South Korea issued a joint declaration in which the North expressed readiness to close its nuclear facilities in Nyongbyon if the US takes reciprocal steps.
This prompted US President Donald Trump to announce that a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will be held shortly.
It remains to be seen whether Ri will meet US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in New York to discuss the summit schedule or Pompeo's preparatory visit to North Korea.
Attention is focused on what Ri will say about the denuclearization issue when he address the General Assembly on Saturday.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has called for a formal declaration of the end of the Korean War to help denuclearize the North.
Moon met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York on Monday and briefed him on the outcome of last week's inter-Korean summit.
South Korea's presidential office quoted Moon as saying that one way to promote the denuclearization process is declaring an end to the war. He added that it would be a political declaration ending hostile relations.
Pyongyang seeks such a declaration in the belief that it would lead to security guarantees.
Moon also stressed the need for humanitarian support for the North, especially by UN agencies, as the denuclearization process makes progress. He asked Guterres for his cooperation.
Guterres promised to do his best to provide support. He also said he wants to further increase cooperation between the UN and South Korea.
UN officials recently visited North Korea to deal with food shortages, damage to forests and other humanitarian issues.

US President Donald Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in have signed a revised free trade agreement.
The 2 leaders signed the deal on Monday in New York. They were there for the annual UN General Assembly.
The new agreement reflects big concessions by South Korea. It doubles the number of vehicles each American automaker can ship to South Korea without meeting the country's safety standards. The deal raises the yearly cap from 25,000 units to 50,000.
Trump had asked for changes to the original FTA, which he blamed for growing US trade deficits with South Korea.
He called the new agreement a "very big deal" and a "historic milestone in trade."
Trump said, "For decades, politicians have talked about fixing broken trade deals, only to do absolutely nothing about them." He added he's been making efforts "from day one," and that his administration is the first to actually keep its promise and deliver.
Trump is maintaining a tough stance against China and other trade partners ahead of November's midterm elections. He appears ready to risk worsening friction in an effort to correct trade imbalances.
Attention now shifts to the outcome of trade talks in Wednesday's Japan-US summit.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has stressed the need for the international community to unite to achieve sustainable development.
Representatives from more than 80 countries gathered at UN headquarters in New York on Monday to discuss how to finance the Sustainable Development Goals.
They are a set of 17 objectives aimed at addressing issues such as poverty, inequality, and global warming.
Attendees at the high-level meeting included Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde.
Guterres noted that investment of 7 trillion dollars is required annually to achieve the goals by 2030.
He stressed the need to act urgently to drive progress, and called for support from governments and local communities across the world.
The United States was absent from the meeting. The country has been backing off from some UN agendas, such as efforts against global warming.

US media said on Monday that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein offered his resignation to the White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.
The news comes after the New York Times reported last week that Rosenstein had suggested invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove President Donald Trump from office.
The amendment stipulates that if the president is declared to be "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office," the vice president assumes those powers and duties as acting president.
Rosenstein is in charge of overseeing an investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government during the 2016 US presidential election.
Trump has criticized the investigation, calling it a witch hunt.
The president said in New York on Monday that he had spoken with Rosenstein earlier in the day and will do so again at the White House on Thursday to determine the situation and to have transparency on the matter.
The possible departure of Rosenstein is expected to deal a blow to the Russian probe and draw criticism against the ruling Republican Party in the run-up to the mid-term elections in November.

5 world powers say they will establish a financial entity with Iran to facilitate payments for Iranian oil in a bid to counter US sanctions.
The foreign ministers of France, Germany, China, Britain, Russia and Iran reached the agreement on Monday in New York.
European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif unveiled the agreement to reporters.
Mogherini said EU member states will set up a legal entity to channel legitimate financial transactions with Iran.
She suggested that the system would allow European companies and possibly other partners to continue to trade with Iran.
The move comes after the United States unilaterally pulled out of the 2015 accord that ended sanctions on Iran in return for the halt of its nuclear program.
The US has re-imposed sanctions on Teheran and threatened to punish businesses from other countries if they continue to import oil from Iran after November.
An increasing number of European and other energy companies have been reviewing their businesses with Iran as the re-imposition of US sanctions looms.
Iran says it might speed up its nuclear program if its national interest is not protected.
It is still unclear how effectively the new system would help oil transactions with Iran to continue.

A high court is allowing a nuclear reactor in western Japan to restart.
Hiroshima High Court presiding judge Masayuki Miki on Tuesday revoked an injunction issued in December.
The same court had ordered Shikoku Electric Power not to restart the No. 3 reactor at Ikata plant in Ehime Prefecture. The decision was due to the risk of a volcanic eruption from Mount Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture.
The ruling was valid until the end of this month.
Shikoku Electric had lodged an objection to the injunction and the high court had been hearing the case.
The power company will be making quick preparations to bring the reactor back online.
Meanwhile, Oita District Court is expected to rule on Friday on another injunction filed by a separate group of residents over the reactor.

The photo and video sharing service, founded in 2010, was bought by Facebook for one billion dollars in 2012. It now has more than a billion users worldwide.
Instagram announced on Monday that chief executive officer Kevin Systrom and chief technical officer Mike Krieger have stepped down, without giving an explanation.
US media reports say the 2 men may have been at odds with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg over how to pursue profit while protecting privacy.
Facebook has seen a series of high-profile exits in recent months. A co-founder of the Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp resigned in April.

A musical concert has been held in South Africa to mark the 100th anniversary of Japan opening its first diplomatic mission on the African continent.
Japan's honorary consul was first posted in Cape Town in 1910, before the country's first diplomatic office in Africa was set up in the port city in 1918.
South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim performed at a theater in Cape Town on Monday to mark the occasion.
Ibrahim spent his childhood in Cape Town. However, his ties to Japan are reflected in his study of martial arts and a piano performance in Kyoto.
Speaking at the event, he said he believes the friendship between Africa and Japan will continue to deepen over the next 100 years.
When Japan first opened its diplomatic mission on the African continent in Cape Town, the port city was a transit point for Japanese people migrating to South America. Today, Cape Town remains home to a Japanese consular office.
Consul Yasushi Naito in Cape Town said although Japanese people tend to think of Africa as faraway, they had been visiting the continent for a long time. He added that Japan will continue supporting Africa's development.
