The final round of voting is under way in India's month-long general election, which started last month.

Voting is carried out in 7 phases in the nation's 543 constituencies.

Voters in the last 59 constituencies went to the polls on Sunday.

Many people lined up at a polling station in the northern city of Varanasi, which is represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A woman who finished voting said she wants Modi to continue to serve as the prime minister, as the country develops.

A man who says he voted for Modi's opponent says he wants a change of power as the people are divided and his business is not getting any better.

Rahul Gandhi, who leads the main opposition Congress party, says Modi promised more jobs for young people, but more are becoming unemployed.

All eyes are on whether Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, which has achieved high economic growth and is increasing India's presence in the international community, will secure a majority and stay in power.

Vote counting will take place on Thursday, but local media are scheduled to release the outcome of exit polls after balloting concludes on Sunday.

The founder and CEO of Huawei Technologies has played down the impact of recent US restrictions on trade with his company.

Ren Zhengfei told media on Saturday that the impact of the move by the US on Huawei's business will be limited. He said growth at the China-based telecom equipment maker may slow, but only slightly. Ren said the annual revenue growth may undershoot 20 percent.

His comments come after the US Commerce Department barred American firms from doing business with Huawei and its 68 affiliates without government approval.

Ren blasted the US decision. He said while President Donald Trump's tax cut is great, it is wrong to intimidate other countries and arrest people. He questioned why anyone would want to invest in a country like that.

Last year, Huwaei procured about 70 billion dollars of components, with about 11 billion coming from American manufacturers of semiconductors or other electronic parts. Analysts point to a possible negative impact from the US decision.

But Ren stressed that Huawei had been preparing for over 10 years for such a step to be taken. The CEO suggested his company is ready to lessen the impact through its own development of technology.

Leaders of European nationalist parties gathered for a rally in Milan, Italy. They promised to pull power back from the European Union and stop refugees and migrants from coming in.

Italy's Interior Minister Matteo Salvini led the rally on Saturday for far-right movements from 12 European countries.

The show of a united front comes ahead of the European Parliamentary elections scheduled for May 23-26.

Salvini, who is the head of the right-wing League party, called for strict border control across Europe to stop the influx of migrants.

Marine Le Pen of France's far-right National Rally and Geert Wilders of the Dutch far-right Party for Freedom also criticized the EU's immigration policy.

The EU-skeptic leaders are hoping to get strong support in the coming election as frustration is growing with Brussel's policy.

Austrian Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache has resigned over a corruption scandal.

Strache, who is leader of the far-right Freedom Party, made the announcement in Vienna on Saturday. That came a day after German media published excerpts of a video of him speaking with a woman claiming to be a niece of a Russian oligarch.

The weekly Der Spiegel and daily newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung ran the footage and reported that Strache offered public works contracts in return for funding for the 2017 election. The video shows the entire exchange.

At Saturday's news conference, Strache admitted to the meeting, but denied doing anything illegal.
Following Strache's resignation, the country's chancellor called for an election to be held as soon as possible.

Sebastian Kurz, who is head of the governing coalition, told reporters on Saturday that "enough is enough."

The scandal comes less than a week before European Parliament elections. Nationalist parties are expected to increase the number of seats they hold in the chamber. Some media say the scandal may have a negative impact on Europe's far-right parties.

Japan's Meteorological Agency is warning of a possible volcanic eruption at the hot spring resort of Hakone, near Tokyo.

The agency raised its alert level to two on a scale of five early on Sunday after the number of volcanic earthquakes increased at Mount Hakone the previous day.

It is warning that large volcanic rocks could fall around the crater at a valley called Owakudani.

It's the first time in four years that the alert level was set at two.

Hakone Town has decided to restrict travel near the crater.

And the operator of Hakone Ropeway says it will suspend its service on Sunday.

A group of paleontologists in China say they have found fossilized remains of a dinosaur with feathers and bat-like membranous wings.

The team led by Professor Wang Min at the Chinese Academy of Sciences has published a report in Nature magazine.

The almost-complete skeleton of the dinosaur was excavated in 2017 in a 163-million-year-old stratum in China's Liaoning Province.

The fossil dinosaur measures 32 centimeters in length, about the size of a pigeon. It has very long forelimbs and membranous wings between fingers.

The researchers also found traces of feathers covering the neck and shoulders of the creature.

They believe the dinosaur may have been gliders similar to present-day flying squirrels.

Pteranodons are another variety of flying dinosaur.

Dinosaurs with feathered wings are believed to have evolved into birds.

But the latest discovery suggests that other dinosaurs with different wings may have existed on the evolutionary path to birds.

Wang says he believes dinosaurs flew using different methods and that feathered wings were a success in evolutionary terms. He says the path to birds may be more complicated than previously thought.
