Chinese President Xi Jinping has called US President Donald Trump's state visit historic and successful.
The two leaders gave a joint news conference where they spoke about North Korea and also trade.
Trump urged Xi to do more to rein in North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
Trump said, "The entire civilized world must unite to confront the North Korean menace. We discussed our mutual commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea."
For his part, Xi reiterated China's official stance.
He said, "We pledge to denuclearize the Korean peninsula and put our unwavering efforts into maintaining the global non-proliferation of nuclear arms.
We continue to strictly enforce UN resolutions and seek a solution to the nuclear issue through dialogue."
North Korea has fired off a barrage of missiles this year, although none in almost two months.
It also conducted its 6th and most powerful nuclear test in September.
On the issue of trade, both leaders boasted about deals signed during the visit.
Xi said, "During President Trump's visit, both countries have signed business and investment deals that total over 250 billion dollars. On top of that, China has announced measures to expand access to our markets based on our own timetable and roadmap."
Trump delivered a slight jab to China on trade.
He said, "We want a vibrant trade relationship with China. We also want a fair and reciprocal one.
Today, I discussed with President Xi the chronic imbalance in our relationship as it pertains to trade, and the concrete steps that we will jointly take to solve the problem of the massive trade distortion."
Trump has one more night in Beijing before his next stop on his Asia tour -- Vietnam on Friday.

The US Navy has announced that it will carry out a military exercise involving 3 aircraft carriers in the Western Pacific from Saturday to Tuesday.
The US 7th Fleet said on Wednesday that the strike groups of the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz, and USS Theodore Roosevelt will be training together.
The 7th Fleet is based in Yokosuka, near Tokyo.
A US Defense Department official told NHK the exercise will take place in the Sea of Japan, an indication that the move is aimed at stepping up pressure on North Korea.
US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Scott Swift said the exercise is a strong testament to the US Pacific Fleet's unique ability and ironclad commitment to the continued security and stability of the region.
The planned exercise includes defending its warships from attack by enemies.
It will be the first time for 3 US carriers to operate together in an exercise in the Western Pacific since 2007.
In an address to South Korea's National Assembly on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump stressed the military strength and resolve of the US in dealing with North Korea.
He said the 3 largest aircraft carriers in the world are stationed in the vicinity of the Korean peninsula and nuclear submarines are also appropriately positioned.

North Korea has denounced the US military buildup around the Korean peninsula, asserting that the United States bears full responsibility for resolving the dangerous situation.
The official newspaper of the Korean Workers' Party, the Rodong Sinmun, again criticized the United States in its editorial on Thursday.
It accused the US of creating the dangerous situation by deploying nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and other strategic weapons in and around South Korea.
It said that unless the US ends its hostile policy and nuclear threat against the North, the country has the self-defensive right to counter with nuclear force. It said this basic stance of North Korea will not change.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has embarked on a 7-day trip to Vietnam and the Philippines to attend a series of summits with regional leaders.
Abe left for Vietnam on Thursday afternoon, to take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit that opens in the city of Da Nang on Friday.
Abe told reporters that he plans to meet separately with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the conferences.
He said he wants to talk candidly with the leaders and convince them of the need to maximize pressure on North Korea until the country abandons its nuclear and missile development programs.
The prime minister also revealed that he plans to meet separately with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
Abe noted that Japan and China will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral peace and friendship treaty next year.
He said he hopes the upcoming meetings will lead to stronger bilateral ties and a mutually beneficial strategic relationship.
While in Vietnam, Abe will also attend a meeting with leaders of the remaining signatories to the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact.
He said that Japan will do all it can as co-chair of the talks, so that the 11 countries can reach a broad agreement on the deal.

The summary of opinions of the latest meeting of the Bank of Japan shows its board debated a member's call for looser monetary policy.
The report shows one member said the BOJ needs to take an additional easing measure for it to hit its 2-percent inflation target at an early date. Analysts say the comment was likely made by Goushi Kataoka, who joined the BOJ in July.
Many policymakers countered his recommendation, citing concerns about possible side effects.
The report covers a 2-day meeting last week. The BOJ decided to keep its monetary policy unchanged.
One member said it would be appropriate to maintain current policy unless the central bank has confidence in the effects of any changes in policy.
Another policymaker warned that additional easing would likely generate side effects on markets and financial institutions that would outweigh any positive impact.

Japan's Finance Ministry officials have released the latest numbers on the current-account balance.
This is the broadest measure of a country's trade and investment with the rest of the world.
They say the balance for the first half of fiscal 2017 posted a surplus of more than 11.5 trillion yen, or about 101 billion dollars.
The figure was at its second-highest level since comparable data were made available in 1985.

The head of the International Monetary Fund has called on Japan to set objectives for fiscal reconstruction and raise the consumption tax in phases.
IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde gave an exclusive interview with NHK in Tokyo.
She said the Japanese economy has grown for six quarters in a row and that is exceptional, calling it time to do structural reforms.
She touched on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's plan to use increased revenues from a consumption tax hike, scheduled for October 2019, for child care and education, rather than to reduce government debts. Abe has indicated a primary balance surplus won't be achieved by fiscal 2020 as hoped.
Lagarde acknowledged that spending on childcare and education are welcome targets for investment.
But she recommended that Japan set a mid-term objective for fiscal reconstruction.
She called on the government to raise the consumption tax gradually over the course of the next few years, re-set the fiscal reconstruction objective from 2020 to a little later and spend wisely on childcare centers and education.

The suspect in an apparent serial murder case has reportedly told police he began posting suicide-related messages on Twitter to take advantage of the victims' emotional weakness.
Last week, police found 9 dismembered bodies in an apartment in Zama city, near Tokyo.
27-year-old Takahiro Shiraishi, who lived in the apartment, was arrested on suspicion of abandoning one of the bodies. He has admitted to killing all 9 people.
Shiraishi has told investigators he targeted women who were posting death wishes on Twitter. He lured the women to his apartment by telling them he would die with them.
Police believe the suspect began making suicide-related tweets in March of this year.
He has reportedly admitted that what he posted were lies, and that he had absolutely no intention to kill himself.
Police suspect Shiraishi approached his victims by pretending that he shared their emotional suffering.
